So you want satellite television? The problem is, when it comes down to it, you just want to compare the cost. It's hard enough to explain away the hours we spend in front of the tube, let alone the amount of money we spend to waste said hours. Well here it is - the satellite TV enthusiast, dish war cost breakdown.

The Cheapest
The cheapest plan on Dish Network is DishFamily at $19.99 per month. On DIRECTV the cheapest plan is Family Choice for $29.99 per month. These two plans give us a close apples-to-apples comparison. With both package you get 40 channels. These channels would certainly satisfy the Flander's family from the Simpsons, but they are so cheap that you do often find them advertised. Seriously, unless you are just getting the satellite for your young kids, you may want to move up the ladder a bit.

The Popular
Now we come to the popular packages. Dish Network offers what I would call a mid-level package referred to as America's Top 60. Take your 40 church channels from the cheapest selection and throw on 20 of the most popular channels in America and you have the top 60. This has to be the most popular choice for the budget conscious consumer. This package costs $29.99 per month.

The Hobbyist
Moving up the line, you will find America's Top 120 on Dish Network. This gives you the channels you will find in the top 60, plus another 60 channels for even more special interests. This package will cost $39.99 per month.

This is where DIRECTV gets into the lower gears and really starts to compete with price. The Total Choice package is the most popular package on DIRECTV. It also runs at $44.99 per month. With DIRECTV's Total Choice package you will get 155 channels to choose from.

Gotta Have It
Those who really need that special station will look at Dish Network's America's Top 180 pack and DIRECTV's Total Choice Plus pack, both at $49.99 per month.

Snob Hill
People with too much money and too much time on their hands will have to look at America's Everything Pack on Dish Network for $89.99 per month and DIRECTV's Total Choice Premier for $99.99 per month. DIRECTV has a bit more to offer with their channel selection which accounts for the greater price.

So there you have it. If you want the cheapest, go with Dish Network. If you want the most, go with DIRECTV.

There is just no stopping Toyota - literally. Last month the auto maker announced the largest recall in history, due to sticking gas petals in eight of their most popular models. Now it appears that another recall is on the horizon for 270,000 Prius Hybrids with faulty breaks. The problem affects 2010 models.

Although Toyota Motor Corporation President Akio Toyoda apologized for “the automaker's global recalls, and promised to beef up quality control by setting up a special committee he would head, himself,” the company that was once known for its quality, is now known for just the opposite.

The company managed to overcome quality issues last year when there were reports of problems with engine sludge build up. However, industry insiders have known for some time that the quality on Toyota's had been slipping.

When Toyota had been competing for market share some 20 plus years ago, there was a distinct feel to the brand. They were smaller than their competition, with a tight ride and spunky engines. Favorites of young buyers for their economy and quality, the brand took off.

Over the years, the cars were “Americanized.” The once tight suspensions gave way to the softer ride of American luxury lines. Handling and gas mileage were also sacrificed as the cars grew to accommodate added weight.

The redesigns did expand Toyota's market share, and put a huge dent in American auto maker sales. Toyota quality, built brand loyalty. But all that has changed now. Why buy a Toyota when you can buy a Mazda or Honda?

With sticking gas petals and faulty breaks, the only thing stopping on Toyota's right now appear to be sales.

In the Tampa Bay area, Toyota sales in the past have been strong, despite the fact that there are few dealerships in suburban counties. There are no dealerships in Hernando County and just one in the southern portion of Citrus County.

Like the rest of America, the roads will be changing - or at least what drives over them. The days of being surrounded by Toyota's may be coming to an end. That will almost certainly make the Honda and Mazda dealers happy.

If you're reading this then chances are your interested in becoming a music producer. I have been producing hip-hop music for around two years now; just as a hobby for now. I am going to offer you some tips and advice that I wish I knew before I started producing.

Choosing the right equipment is a big step in starting your new hobby (or maybe your new career). There's so much to choose from, and let's be honest it isn't that cheap. Questions I came across was what midi keyboard? What speakers? Should I buy a hardware synthesizer or virtual instruments (VST's)?

My first purchase was an Oxygen 8 v2 midi keyboard, and is probably the perfect purchase for the new producer. However my next purchase wasn't. It was an Akai MPC500. Although a very powerful machine, it is complicated to learn and I would highly advise you to avoid it until you're an advanced producer. To start with, I would recommend you buy speakers and not monitors, as monitors are very expensive if your just starting out.

Other things to consider are what computer and what software (or DAW) you should use. If you have a Mac, use that and GarageBand, as it comes pre-installed. Then you can later upgrade to Logic or ProTools. If you have a Windows PC, I would recommend FruityLoops to start with, then upgrading to Cubase or ProTools when you become more experienced.

When it comes to learning your new equipment and software, the best place to look is YouTube. There are literally thousands of videos on there from showing you how to connect equipment up, to showing you how to make your first music beat. There are also allot of forums dedicated to newcomers of music production where you can ask questions if you get stuck with something.

Music production may look simple, but it's very different when you actually come to doing it. Thinking of new ideas that are unique and different takes time. I would advise you to learn some basic music theory, and maybe some basic piano. Learning piano chords has been a major help towards me thinking and producing new ideas, and I would recommend that you do the same.

Overall, learning to produce music is a very hard thing to do as a complete beginner. But if you follow my advice, and stick with it, it will become easier and you will be able to advance and learn how to mix and master songs. You might even be able to start selling your music and who knows, maybe become the next Timbaland.
